Thursday night, Schaumburg Township GOP organization chose to endorse media spokesman Dan Proft for governor in the February 2010 GOP gubernatorial primary. Proft supporter Dean Dahlgren told Illinois Review that in order to obtain the 60 percent for endorsement, Proft needed 23 votes. He got 24.
" Proft won by a large margin. All the other candidates were in the single digits," Dahlgren reported. "He got the votes he needed on the first ballot. In the subsequent balloting, Proft's support got bigger.
Mike Adelezzi is the Schaumburg Township GOP Chairman.

Dan was the clear winner at the Homer Township event, and again at tonight's debate and in Schaumburg.

Why would there be a need for "subsequent balloting" if " Proft won by a large margin. All the other candidates were in the single digits," Dahlgren reported. "He got the votes he needed on the first ballot. Seems like over-kill. Good for Dan Proft. We need a new and improved governor!

The organization that brought us Paul Forelich now wants to give us Dan Proft.
The patronage pigs want to make sure one of their own is in there.

I'd take Dan Proft for Governor. Good for him. Adam Andrzejewski and Bill Brady would be much better than what we have had.

To Just Sayin', FYI, the Schaumburg Twp Rep Org did not give us Froehlich. It is an entirely differenct organization made up larglely of previous opponents of Froelich. And, Proft is what Illinois needs . .. bold conservative ideas.

To Avid, there was only one ballot needed to endorse Proft. The point on subsequent ballots was not reported correctly. The point was that he would have had even more votes on a second ballot because a number of people said they'd be with Proft on a second ballot. A second ballot was not necessary because he got 63% of the vote and 60% was needed for endorsement.

I am a precinct captain in Schaumburg Township. Our organization is completely different than that of Paul Froehlich. I was a volunteer for Froehlich. The organization run by Adelizzi is a fresh break from the failed Froehlich years. It is much more inclusive than STAR use to be.
