If the following sentence does not get you to read the entire column below, I predict a more rapid path to the end of our once 'free country'.
"Homelandsecuritynewswire.com reports that the government has set a goal of capturing only 29% of people and goods entering our borders illegally."
We have conservatives (this includes talking heads and entertainers such as Limbaugh, Beck, Dobbs, Hannity - not Michael Savage) DEMANDING health care insurance that is portable from state to state. THIS IS NOT EVEN DUMB - IT IS (imho) STUPID! The only way for anything to apply to all states and to be described as "portable". it has to be controlled by D.C.!!!
I have been against mandatory use of E-Verify, the implementation of REAL ID and now the PASS Act ever since the dots were connected relative to keeping our borders open to increase dis-organization in our society via multiple languages and identity theft along with increased crime plus, plus, plus. We do not need "portable" health insurance nor do we need REAL ID nor do we need the PASS ACT nor do we need mandatory E-Verify. What we do need is secure borders and ports of entry plus the elimination of several FEDERAL offices such as the Dept. of Education.
Finally others are starting to get the message. Read the column below.
Our open borders is all part of what may be a designed plan to decimate a once great country.
Mind you, if we continue to let our federal government, transgender / homosexual groups and teacher unions drive our education system, our Representative Government is finished.

Legal U.S. residents have a choice - read the column below and react by getting to work to get honest, knowledgeable - not "educated" - candidates elected to office next year or prepare for a total loss of freedom. The current bunch in control of D.C. care not one whit about the Constitution of the United States of America. The Third Army is already in place.

Health insurance should be attached to the individual and family not their place of employments... THATS DUMB.... its purposeful as well. Get sick, lose you job, lose you insurance... become a pre-existing condition... THATS DUMB... but it makes the Health Industry rich.
Whats also DUMB is that cigna saw a 97% increase in profits in ONE YEAR this year. This company has one of the worst reps regarding how they treat their ill customers... big surprise.
This is DUMB too: advocating electing uneducated people to run the United States...because you happen to wear a paranoid tin foil hat.

Having health insurance attach to the individual and being "portable" doesn't have to be a federal law. Individual states could create portability laws that create mutual recognition of other insurance packages approved by other states. For example, Illinois could pass a law that says "if a health insurance package is valid in another state, then that package shall also be deemed valid in Illinois so long as that other state similarly recognizes insurance packages originating in Illinois."
Boom, portability problem solved without federal interference.
We could also extend the same tax deductions to individuals who carry insurance as we do to companies.
As far as pooling for volume discounts go, there's no reason why some "health insurance broker" couldn't aggregate individuals for bulk discounts. For example, let Costco or Sam's Club offer to their members an optional "health plus" membership too. If you opt in for an extra $500 bucks per year or whatever, then you say you're authorizing a Costco health expert to collectively bargain and shop around for health insurance so that several thousand folks who opted into the Costco health plus membership can negotiate bulk rates.

Larry,
Itis not really bulk rates, per se, it is spreading the risk profile over a larger group so that probability of large claims across the group is reduced.

E-Verify is one of the most effective immigration enforcement identifiers, along with the 287 (g) police apprehension applications to deter any illegal foreign national from stealing the 15.3 million American jobs. The usual proponents are out to eliminate these powerful programs, because enforcement of immigration laws that have always been imposed-- ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO WORK EFFICIENTLY? HOWEVER I WILL KEEP ON REMINDING VOTERS, TO COMMAND A PERMANENT E-VERIFY SYSTEM FROM THEIR LAWMAKERS. The same with the simple border fence, that owing to its limited capability of stopping illegal aliens. Nobody denies that a single tier fence is not scalable, but if it had been constructed as two fences as it originally designed. As a double lane for the fast movement of border guards, within a-no mans-land, it certainly would have certainly stopped the majority of illegal aliens caught between the two? E-Verify on the other hand, has proved its worthiness which the treasonous lawmakers never expected to catch-on with any credibility.
Now they are trapped with E-Verify because the American citizenry are fully perceptive of its use. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't be on our guard, with pro-illegal immigrant legislators such as Nevada's Sen. Reid, California's Speaker Pelosi. Do not believe them when they say that they approve of E-Verify. They are lying through their teeth. Sen. Reid now must pay the “piper" because his accreditation amongst his constituency is at an all time low? He is apt to be canned in 2010, when he comes up for a vote amongst his state voters. Not just him as many more should be booted out. Read all their immigration enforcement grading at NUMBERSUSA. Homeland Security Secretary Napolitano has already shown her true colors, by informing us we need a balanced policy where ICE raids are concerned? That’s why ICE confrontations have more or less fizzled out, contrary to what anybody says.
Another piece of rhetoric that White House issued a new report claiming that the Stimulus Bill earlier this year has created or saved approximately 650,000 U.S. jobs? Yet they forgot to inform everybody that the government has imported more than a million working-age foreign nationals this year that nullified every positive impact the stimulus could have had for U.S unemployed workers.
WITHOUT ANY FEAR OF CONTRADICTION THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE STOPPED. Very few politicians have tried to halt the occupancy by foreign invaders to our country? This is why the E-Verify mechanism was never mandated, owing to the fact that Americans are last to be a priority, specially the 15.3 million jobless workers. Already Hispanic Caucuses have confronted President Obama at the White House, with the chair of the House Rules Committee indicating they are giving the Caucuses what they have adamantly demanded. Rep. Louise Slaughter D-N.Y indicated that the House will have to vote on a bill that allows illegal aliens to use the new health care "exchange". A loophole that does not require verification to keep illegal aliens out of the other parts of the proposed new federal health care system. Please call all Democratic House Members and urge them to vote against the rule that provides a weak verification mechanism that still allows illegal aliens to purchase insurance from the health care exchange. WE MUST JAM THE SWITCHBOARDS IN WASHINGTON, PUSHING OUR OWN DEMANDS at 202-224-3121 that bars illegal aliens from the health care insurance "exchange" YOUR VOICE IS MAKING AN IMMENSE DIFFERENCE TO HOW THE POLITICIANS VOTE?

CBO Says New Health Care Bill Would Cover 2.5 Million More Illegal Aliens. Reid Kills E-Verify Amendment to Unemployment extension Bill.
