Yesterday IR reported that there is talk ILGOP Chair Andy McKenna may run for Congress in the 10 Congressional District, which will be vacant when U.S. Rep. Mark Kirk runs for U.S. Senate. Also in the running from the GOP side is recent Mount Prospect mayoral candidate Patricia Bird, and possibly Winnetka business owner Dick Green, or state Rep. Beth Coulson of Glenview.
On the Democrat side, Dan Seals, who lost to Kirk in '06 and '08 is considering another run, as is state Sen. Susan Garrett. State Sen. Mike Bond (pictured) is the only Democrat official in the race at this time.

update:
in order -
andy mckenna has been a resident of chicago since his 2004 us senate primary loss. granted, you don't have to live in the district, but it's going to be hard for people to make the re-connect.
he, through his tenure as party chairman, and the current debacle with the us senate race, has so damaged his reputation, that he has a very short future in the gop.
patricia bird came in third to irvana wilks (inc.) and another candidate for mayor of mt. prospect. bird got a whopping 12% of the vote, to wilks 72%. does she really think that she has a viable political base - let alone being able to raise the money. this is a complete joke.
dick green has early money and support and has been active. not sure where his political base is
beth coulson announced yesterday, publicly, that she is running for re-election as state representative.
