I fear that the transgendered community is receiving unfair neglect in the identity politics lottery that is the Obama nominating policy. I believe a wise transgenda with the richness of... his and her experiences would make better judgments than someone (particularly a white person without gender confusion) who has not had those experiences.
Who would better empathize with the litigious cross-dressing male who decides to sue an OB-GYN for discrimination because he cannot have a baby? Empathy is, after all, a requirement for a justice appointed by the current reader of TOTUS. In fact empathy is third on the priority list, following only identity and propensity for wealth redistribution.
If Senator Lindsey Graham (RINO - SC) believes that South Carolina's transgendered population is significant enough to impact his re-election possibilities, we will likely see a scene like the one reported by Obama's AP via Brietbart:
Even so, Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., told Sotomayor, "Unless you have a complete meltdown, you're going to get confirmed."
"And I don't think you will" have a meltdown, he added quickly.
Of course the drag queen judge will have his or her... or its name in place of the "wise Latina" who believes policy is made by the court of appeals and Hispanic will be replaced by an identifier that is more in line with buying the votes of transgendered persons.
If you are inclined to read John McAmnesty's sidekick's entire opening statement, it can be found here. The senator who suggested the "loud folks" who oppose amnesty for illegals to "just shut up" does a nice job laying out a case against the wise Latina, before implying that none of it matters and he hopes his colleagues remember the back-scratching in the future. (Note to Illinois, this could be Mark Kirk in a couple of years.)
Oh well, this is our political landscape. Where will the administration find the wise transgenda? If they decide to go with a half-wit transgenda, Barney Frank might fit the bill.
In honor of Lindsey Grahamnesty, please enjoy the following work by Jack Geng:
