The Republican National Conservative Caucus is a group of Republican National Committee members who are moving swiftly to solidify conservative values in the Republican Party. Illinois' National Committeewoman Demetra DeMonte is a founding member of RNCC, and tells us she's signed on as a co-sponsor to all three of the latest Obama-stopping resolutions for the RNC to consider at the end of July.
A letter sent out last week from Vice-Chairman of the RNC, Indiana's James Bopp Jr. explains what's going on - and why what the RNCC is doing is so important:
To Republican and conservative activists:
I write today to announce three new resolutions that will be considered at the RNC’s summer meeting in San Diego later this month. Building upon prior resolutions adopted by the RNC (Resolution on Bailouts adopted at RNC Winter Meeting in January 2009, Resolutions on Bailouts, Earmarks, and President Obama’s March Towards Socialism adopted at RNC Chairman’s meeting in May 2009), each of these resolutions, if adopted, would define the RNC’s positions on critical issues facing our republic (Obamacare, Cap and Trade, and the Obama Administration’s Policy of Appointing Czars).
The Obama Administration and the Democrats continue their efforts to impose a far left agenda on America. They are proceeding to nationalize our nation's major industries, to exponentially increase the size, power, and intrusiveness of the federal government, to undermine free enterprise and free markets, to raise taxes to a confiscatory level, to strap future generations with enormous, unsustainable debt, to debase our currency, to destroy traditional values, and to weaken our national defense and retreat from the war on terror. I fear that unless they are stopped, that we will not recognize our country in a few short years.
The RNC must be both bold, and aggressive in its leadership during these perilous times. The national platform of the RNC articulates the conservative principles on which the Republican Party stands. However, it must also state its application to current public policy debates and make clear that Republicans are prepared to fight for them.
The Republican National Conservative Caucus will continue to support the RNC and resolutions such as those outlined below. The RNCC hopes that its efforts, and resolutions such as these, will strengthen the conservative principles upon which the Republican party was built, so that the RNC may be an effective force in stemming the tide toward socialism.
Included below are excerpts from emails sent by the resolution sponsors, announcing each of the respective resolutions.
Obamacare: Marching Further Towards Socialism
Sponsor: Solomon Yue, National Committeeman - Oregon
Obama's socialist care is not only another run-away entitlement that could push this Republic to a point of no return, but also a social engineering to control every aspect of our daily life through taxation, mandates, and regulations.
If the Congress passes Obamacare, 46% of the national economy will be under direct control of the U.S. government. The federal government already controls banks, auto manufacturers, insurance companies, and the mortgage industry, which represent 26% of the national economy. The healthcare industry alone represents nearly 20% of the national economy.
As you can see, Obama and Democrats are marching this nation toward a European-style Socialism, e.g., the German government controls 47% of its national economy.
Resolution on Cap and Trade
Sponsor: Helen Van Etten, National Committeewoman - Kansas
As the liberal Majority maneuvered to bring the highly unpopular 1200-page energy-rationing bill, better known as the Waxman-Markey cap-and-tax bill, to the House floor for a vote and passed! It is crystal clear that the central question in the debate over global warming and cap-and-trade has nothing to do with the environment or even with energy. It’s all about one thing: revenue.
The bottom line here is that under the Obama administration’s plan money from ordinary energy consumers that will be taken out of their pockets to fund big government special interest spending programs in Washington and bailouts on Wall Street. And that’s why supporters of cap-and-trade don’t seem bothered by the fact that the program would have no discernible impact on global averages temperatures or any of the supposed impacts of global warming. It’s all about the money.
We have always believed the place to kill this bill is the U.S. Senate. Unfortunately, with Al Franken taking the US senate seat and White House's willingness to do anything to get this bill passed, including misleading and intimidating members, the Senate fight will be right down to the wire. We need to do everything we can to educate the public about the danger that this legislation poses for family budgets and economic freedom to help the voices of millions of grassroots activists be heard on this issue.
Resolution to Reform the Obama Administration’s Policy of Appointing Czars
Sponsor: Bruce Ash, National Committeeman - Arizona
While it has been a practice of many presidents going back to FDR to appoint "czars" to oversee certain pet projects, Barack Obama has taken this practice to new heights that has never been seen before.
The current practice of appointing "czars" to oversee everything from the traditional Drug Czar to Homeland Security Czar , Executive Compensation Czar, Regulatory Czar, Government Performance Czar, and a host of others, totalling as many as 20 different positions, suggests that the president has organized a shadow government which has virtually no oversight by Congress.
The current concentration of powers within the Executive Branch is especially troubling because major portions of the federal government are being guided by individuals who are accountable only to the president. "Czars" are not confirmed by Congress. "Czars" rarely appear in front of congressional committees. "Czars" are able to claim executive privilege. Congress and citizens of the United States have turned over key areas of national policy to unelected and unconfirmed individuals thus creating an un paralleled shadow government.
The Founding Fathers would be dismayed to find that the US Constitution has been allowed to devolve in such a way that congressional purse strings and oversight have been destroyed by the President of the United States. Why do we need a "Border Czar" when we already have a Secretary of Homeland Security? Despite the current economic situation in the auto industry why should there be a "Car Czar" when we already have a Secretary of the Treasury & Transportation Secretary? The reason is these cabinet level secretaries are accountable to congress but these various "czars" are accountable ONLY to Barack Obama.
As I speak to many Republican grassroots activists they have expressed their concern about this centralization of power within the White House. This resolution answers their request to call upon the US Congress to act and stand up to Barack Obama and investigate the president's shadow government and to curtail appropriations to these agencies until proper powers are restored.

Same old GOP. Elected officials that lick the scrotum of big business ( the party of big business only),using the same destructive, 40 year old ideas, backed by rabid, ignorant mobs of people that vote against every good thing for the people, including themselves, as opposed to voting against the financial rape by big business of the people. God help them see the evil they back, blindly and foolishly, to the downfall of this nation.
