Rating states on 1) leadership problems, 2) criminality, 3) statewide challenges, and 4) media circus, NationalJournal.com has ranked the six most dysfunctional states in the Union. The six are as follows:
- New York
- Nevada
- Illinois
- Alaska
- South Carolina
- California

Yes, this IS a dysfunctional state. But any list that includes Alaska as the fourth-most dysfunctional state (all because of a certain outgoing governor's sudden resignation cannot be taken seriously. The National Journal, like everything else that calls itself "non-partisan," is just another vehicle for Mediacrat wishful thinking. The writer of this piece plainly has a very poor command of statistics and limited analytical ability. The ranking criteria are a joke, have no support provided, mathematical or otherwise, and based upon the ridiculous gloss on Alaska--a very sound state from a fiscal standpoint, and pretty stable from a political standpoint--I would say the writer, frankly, has no idea what he's talking about.
Illinois does suck, but not because the numnuts at the National Journal say it does.
