Check out this email message coming from the Governor's office, pressuring Republican state reps Poe and Brauer to support his tax increase so Sangamon County's "needed services" can continue.
It is 3 pm. The House is on an hour break. We expect them to be back shortly to vote on the income tax increase. It is imperative that we get the votes for the income tax increase to continue with needed services in Sangamon County and really all of Illinois. Please call Representatives Poe and Brauer as soon as possible and ask them to vote yes—Poe (217) 782-0044 and Brauer 217-782-0053
The tax increase is a tough vote, but the Governor has now added a sunset clause. We are hopeful that Reps. Poe and Brauer can support the tax increase with the sunset—it’s a tough vote but it is sorely needed. Tell him thanks for his support of your programs in the past and ask for his support this time as well.
