“Since my speaking at the Tax Day Tea Party is such an apocalyptic event in the lives of a small group of people whose singular desire seems to be to create headaches for the organizers of this important event and manufacture in-fighting among people who purport to hold the same values, I have decided to withdraw myself as a speaker for the event next week. As I said previously in response to reckless rumor-mongers, this event is not about me and was never about me. Per my invitation long ago, I said that if organizers thought that my speaking added value to the event, great. If they did not, no worries. There are plenty of quality speakers lined up for what promises to be a wildly successful event.
“I appreciate those, including the organizers, who were willing to stand fast on my behalf in the face of a certain venal, immature element that professes shared beliefs but in reality serves only to propagate the current power structure in Illinois by crippling the conservative, free market movement from within.
“Hopefully, with my self-removal, the melodramatic hysterics of a few will subside, the organizers will not suffer any further distractions on my account, and everyone’s attention will be refocused on the significance of the event and the mission of this grassroots/netroots movement: to organize and to embolden Illinoisans and all Americans to rise up against the neo-socialism of the Obama administration and their allies, which is pushing our state and our nation towards the precipice of economic collapse.”
