Rep. Rosemary Mulligan's HB 343 sounds rather appealing today. It's a state income tax deduction for any amount exceeding $2000 in the purchase of a hearing aid. We're always for tax deductions, and right now it appears there's a need for at least 48 hearing aids to be ordered for the members of the House GOP caucus -- unless one or two or three can prove they really don't have tin ears.
Listen to this:
“I don’t think Republicans should be going into this legislative session with their Republican hats on,” said House Minority Leader Tom Cross, R-Oswego, who hosted Quinn at one of his usually private caucus meetings.
That little quip in the Pantagraph today is stirring conservative rancor this am as a growing number prepare to throw up their hands in disgust over thick-headed GOP House leadership appearing to succumb to devastating political disabilities such as tin ears, weak spines and chicken livers. "The public wants us all to just get along," we hear. We're hoping this is all a misunderstanding or a serious Pantagram misquote taken out of context.
Rep. Cross, can you hear us?
