Illinois' Secretary of State Jesse White re-confirmed this morning to Fox & Friends that he won't certify the governor's choice to fill the Obama U.S. Senate vacancy. The governor's choice, former Attorney General Roland Burris, says he will be in DC on Monday to be sworn in. U.S. Senate Majority President Harry Reid threatens an armed guard to keep Burris from entering the U.S. Senate floor. More media embarrassment for Illinois expected next Monday.
If White keeps his word as promised here, he deserves kudos as a rarity in Illinois politics.
