Ayers' invite on College of Dupage trustees' agenda

Here's more evidence that local elected offices are crucial in affecting educational policy -- at the grade school, high school and college levels.

The College of DuPage has extended a speaking invitation to former Weatherman domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, and one of COD's trustees made the Ayers invite an issue at Monday's board of trustees' meeting.  As pointed out last week on Modern Conservative:

Kory Atkinson, a Trustee for COD, will be asking the Board of Trustees to discuss the concerns that are being raised, not only with the invitation of Ayers, but with the leftist slant of speakers invited to COD in recent years, during a January 12th Board meeting.

“The students, residents and taxpayers of COD have a right to expect that the College will use public funds responsibly.  Paying an admitted and unrepentant domestic terrorist to speak to our students about ‘leadership’ is simply appalling and demonstrates poor judgment in the use of public dollars.”

Hats off to Trustee Atkinson and others on COD's Board of Trustees who are watching carefully how taxpayers' dollars are being spent at their community college.
