Replacing Obama: Character or Color?

Despite Blagojevich's protestations of color-blindness in Lynn Sweet's column today, there is clearly an immense amount of pressure from Blacks to judge Obama's replacement in the U.S. Senate not by the content of their character, but by the color of their skin.

Wonder how the 1,890,000 Hispanics in Illinois feel about this?

The appointee should just be drawn from a hat. However to make this drawing truly fair, they should recruit as many white candidates needed to reflect the state's true ethnic demographic breakdown. Assuming that 3 blacks are in the running, that would be 2 hispanics, 1 asian (Duckworth), and 14 white candidates (even through in Glenn Poshard, what the heck!

Draw the appointee from a hat with the names of 3 blacks, 2 hispanics, 1 asian and 14 whites!

As long as the hispanic is not Luis G., I'd be OK with it.

According to the Census Bureau's 2003 estimates, these are Illinois' ethnic percentages: White, 80%; Black, 15%; Hispanic, 14%; Asian, 4%; Two or more races, 1%; and American Indian, 0.3%. The total is more than 100% because some people (mostly Hispanics) claim more than one group. If Blago. pulls a name from a hat, he should use one person for every 5%, in his or her ethnic group, which means 16 Whites, 3 Blacks, 3 Hispanics, and an Asian.

Hell, why not rotate, every week a different senator appointed for a 1 week term. We could have every identity group represented.

Or, why not co-senators just like Obama now has co-Secretary of State?

Chage is about creativity.

I suppose since America had elected its first illegal alien (see obamacrimes.com), we should get another illegal alien in as a United States Senate replacement. It only makes sense right?

Let's incite a race war!

No need for a race war, Thumbelina - don't you know that once a black person gets a job, that blacks declare it a "black job" ever after?

When Thurgood Marshall left the court, the only candidates that could be considered were black, and the same goes for our only black Senator! The entire pool of acceptable candidates for Senate of the State of Illinois are Black Leftists. If you don't understand that, you don't understand anything.
