McCain/Palin supporters need to hang in there. Polls this morning show McCain/Palin and Obama/Biden in a virtual tie. This race has come down to a neck-in-neck between two Mavericks and two Socialists.
And the deciding vote will be made this time by America's Joe Six-Packs -- union guys who don't like creepy metrosexuals like Barack Obama.
The news everywhere today is about the $150,000 that Sarah Palin's spent on her wardrobe since she entered the campaign a few weeks ago. It's the typical "Look over there!' tactic Democrats will use to distract attention from the gazillions of campaign dollars Barack will be wasting on a 30 minute national self-promotion infomercial next Thursday night. Talk about a waste of money.
If Sarah's clothes came from WalMart, she'd be ridiciuled as white trailer trash. If she dresses as Stacy London and Clinton Kelly of TLC's "What Not to Wear" would advise, she's probably not too extravagant. Think she's been spending hours at the nation's shopping malls? Of course not, she's got wardrobe shoppers grabbing things off the racks as she hits every town from Columbus to Ft. Lauderdale. Please. Get over the pathetic wardrobe issue.
Is anyone paying attention to how Barack Obama is spending his $150,000,000 (that's three more zeroes that Palin's wardrobe expenditure) he raised last month? You know, the money he's raised after promising to work within the same public funding constraints John McCain committed to back when McCain was down so far in the primary? When he had no staff, was carrying his own luggage in airports as he tromped nationwide, begging for financial and political support?
One of Saul Alinsky's key principles is to give the illusion of power, and that power will win elections. Alinsky knew human nature well. Most people want to be identified with winners. It makes people with low self esteem feel like winners. And why not? If you can win because you're associated with a perceived winner, that makes you one, right?
What Republicans need to concentrate on right now is getting their voters to the polls. It may not be so smart to vote early this time. The closer we get to election, the more nervous Obama's making the few undecided left. The more arrogant he gets, the more voters are understanding what kind of America we'll have with him and his buddies at the helm. The wealth redistribution crowd of Obama/Biden/Pelosi/Reid/Ayers/Wright/Rezko is scary to most Americans, as it well should be.
This race has come down to two Mavericks running against two Socialists. And you gotta love these Sarah Palin fans -- made up overwhelmingly by the nation's Joe Six-Packs -- whose union leaders are telling them to vote for the smooth-talking, weak-sounding Barack Obama and confused, scary Joe Biden, while in their substantial-sized guts these guys are cheering for the fearless Mavericks John McCain and Sarah Palin.
Who would have thought this election would come down to the Joe Six-Pack vote? Joe Six-Packs of America, unite!
