Illinois House Succeeds in Subverting Federal Law Once Again

The Illinois House of Representatives succeeded today once again in subverting Federal law by passing HB2747 Religious Ministry access.

Here are all of their votes  now let's review ....they voted on HB 60 In State Tuition for illegal aliens and it passed 03/05/03 , Then they decided they would force businesses and Banks to accept an ID (Matricula Consular) that the FBI deemed a major threat to our national Security..SB 1623 they passed this bill on 05/27/05. Then there is Drivers certificates for illegal aliens passing 03/28/07. These brilliant guys and gals brought a law suit to Illinois courtesy of Department of Homeland Security because the Illinois House of Representatives chose to intimidate employers from checking if their workers were in the United States legally using the e-verify Federal program, HB1744 passed 04/19/07.

Congratulation to the Illinois House for once again sabotaging the Federal Governments guidelines for illegal alien detainees for ministry and creating their own laws. They obviously do not have enough to do in Springfield, they have to look for work. The brain child for this bill was Rep. Daniel Burke and his friends at ICIRR. To hell with the Feds they say, to hell with the Feds!

The vote on today's bill (HB2747)was unanimous. Every single representative is wrong and Rosanna is right?

Of Course not, if you support illegal immigration and the distruction of the American rule of law, all the Reps voted correctly. But of course you remain anonymous because you are scared of your own shadow.

Isn't there a law against aiding and abetting?
Soon you can expect this guy's to start taking care of you children down at the school yard,

Every black legislator needs to look his constituemt in the eye and tell him straight away that he/she had voted to take entry level jobs away from the legals work force.

Every legislator needs to look at each constituent and say -- I have increased your tax burden so that our citizens can remain on welfare.

From the number one enemy of Illinois Taxpayers!

I must be missing something - the bill says that if you're in jail, you have to be allowed access to a minister. How does that take peoples jobs away? Are people more likely to enter the country illegally because they know that if they're thrown in jail, a minister can visit them?

They are allowed 2 hours of Ministry a month by Federal guidlines. They are Federal inmates, the illegal detainees fall under FEDERAL law. The Illinois House is interfering with FEDERAL GUIDLINES.

They cannot get a budget together but they have time for this, skirting Federal law, just like their other votes subverted FEDERAL law.

I thought you fundies were all about State's Rights? Where's your 10th amendment now, Moses??

The law isn't "subverting" anything. Subverting would be if Illinois unilaterally decided to not allow prisoners access to clergy _at all_. That would cause major Supremacy Clause issues.

Here, the Illinois legislature simply extended the existing regulation to provide more rights than are guaranteed by the Federal government. Doing so is well within the rights of state government. Seriously, while you may not love the law which has been passed, this situation is an exercise of the type of states' rights which have been vigorously defended for years by Republican politicians and conservative judges. You may have an ideological dispute with the law itself, but a disagreement with the underlying protocol is in direct conflict with Republican goals of federalism.

The word "RIGHTS" is overused. Rights come from God/natural law; not government. Government can only "abridge" those "rights".

The constitution says that government may abridge those rights after "due process of law" eg, after convicted of a crime. The exception is habeas corpus, cruel and unusual punishment and similar restrictions on government power specifically listed in the constitution.

Constitutionally the federal government has wide latitude in optional abridgement of a federal convicts "rights". Likewise state government constitutionally has wide latitude in optional abridgement of state convicts.

The major power the Feds have over the states is to withhold federal money unless states do it the federally mandated way.

But then enter activist judges who ignore the constituion and impose one of the optional actions as a one-size-fits all mandate that is an abuse of their position. Then the legislators anticipate activist judges as if they were a superior branch of government and write laws accordingly.

Only substantiates that our new motto is "Illinois, The Sanctuary State" has ever more meaning.

Of course, we will get more illegals, and they will be the future of the Democratic Party. And if there are some individuals out there who can not understand this, I will briefly explain. No they will not immediately vote, I said they are the FUTURE of the Democratic Party. And yes enough have been infiltrating into the state in the last 25+ years to actually now vote, albeit in more limited numbers. But you ain't seen nothing yet.

Rosanna should explain how Representatives Reis, Ramey and Rose "support illegal immigration and subvert the rule of law." Add in Sacia, Stephens and Schock. All six voted for the HB this week.

If the state legislature creates laws in definance of federal law there is nothing left but confusion, disdane for federal laws, and utimately social turmoil in the streets. We are well on our way to civil war in this country. Wake up American citizens. How many of your rights are going to be taken away before you decide to do something.
