Elk Grove GOP picks Sweeney

The Daily Herald reports this morning that the Elk Grove Township GOP has a new committeeman -- Arlington Heights' Mike Sweeney.  We congratulate Sweeney and the township Republicans for their excellent choice to succeed the retiring township committeeman, former Senator Cheryl Axley.

Sweeney is running for State Senate, challenging former gun control lobbyist/now State Senator Dan Kotowski in November.  Sweeney is a bright, energetic young man and should be a great shot in the arm to the Elk Grove GOP.

Along with the likes of the new Cook County GOP Chairman Lee Roupas, the next generation is stepping up to the plate.  We're encouraged for them and for our state's future.
