Wanna know where your $$$ go? Some will kill babies in Aurora
From the Rockford Diocese we learn the disgusting details of the hard-earned dollars you and I are paying to subsidize the massive new abortuary in Hastert's 14th CD -- conveniently located in the Midwest's abortion dumping ground of Illinois, just west of Chicago off the heavily traveled Reagan Tollway (I-88) in Aurora. . . you know, close to the beautiful, pastoral scenes of Sugar Grove.
Make sure your liberal friends take note of Patricia Bainbridge's research when they complain about the $$ being spent against their will in Iraq . . .
An Introduction
by Patricia Pitkus Bainbridge, M.A.
September 18, 2007 is the date set for the opening of the new $7.5 million, 22,000-square foot Planned Parenthood facility in Aurora. Located on 3.24 acres at 3051 East New York Street, the facility (pictured below) apparently has been in the works since 2002 and under construction for the last nine months.
Introducing themselves to the community
Steve Trombley, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Chicago Area (PP/CA), told the Chicago Tribune that the new facility has a large conference room for meetings with groups so they can “introduce ourselves to the community . . . rather than be defined by our adversaries.”
It might be a while before PP/CA begins having those meetings with community groups. Knowing that Planned Parenthood officials often speak in vague, deceptive language, allow me to “introduce” several aspects of PP/CA’s work and philosophy that Mr. Trombley will surely omit from his presentations.
Relationship to PPFA
PP/CA is an affiliate of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA). According to its most recent annual report (2005-2006), PPFA has “116 affiliates” that operate 860 local “health centers” throughout the United States. Every affiliate is required to abide by the policies and procedures set by PPFA. All must either commit abortions themselves or refer women and girls to others who will do so. All must actively work to keep abortion legal. All must actively oppose every proposed restriction or limitation on abortion, especially those relating to “the access of adolescents to confidential reproductive health services, including contraception and abortion.”
PP/CA is one of PPFA’s oldest and largest affiliates.
Non-profit, but . . .
PPFA and its affiliates are nonprofit organizations. This does not mean they end every fiscal year with a balanced budget. It simply means there are no shareholders benefiting from the profits—surplus dollars must remain within the organization.
PPFA’s revenue for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2006 was a staggering $902.8 million. Expenses were $847 million, leaving a “profit” of $55.8 million.
PP/CA’s total revenue for the same fiscal year was $15.3 million. Expenses were $14.8 million, leaving a “profit” of $478,545.
Employees at this “nonprofit” do not receive meager compensation. While the salary for PPFA President Cecile Richards was not listed on its current IRS Form 990, the American Institute of Philanthropy reported that in 2004 former PPFA President Gloria Feldt was paid $926,106.
According to its 2005 Form 990, PP/CA paid Steve Trombley $260,417, plus $15,625 in “contributions to employee benefit plans & deferred compensation” as well as another $11,000 for an “expense account and other allowances.” PP/CA also paid its “contract physician” (abortionist), Murray Pelta, $500,785 in 2005.
“Services” in Aurora
PP/CA’s website lists 24 “services” that will be available at its Aurora facility including: pregnancy testing, abortion (medical and surgical), sexually transmitted disease testing and treatment, birth control, crisis counseling,
Pap tests, and HIV/AIDS testing and education.
Another “service” included on PP/CA’s list is “adoption counseling and placement.” When discussing adoption, PP/CA’s website states, “you should not feel any pressure to choose adoption.” No such caution is listed in its section on abortion.
In an apparent public relations effort a few years ago, PP/CA announced that counselors from The Cradle would be available at some of its sites. Sadly, this adoption agency is not opposed to abortion.
In 2004, the total referrals for adoption from all Planned Parenthood affiliates was a paltry 1,414. None were reported for 2005.
One has to wonder just how many babies (if any) are placed with adoptive families or, for that matter, how many teens or women facing untimely pregnancies have even been referred for adoption by PP/CA.
Health Centers?
Planned Parenthood typically uses “health center” to describe its facilities. But what is really meant by the phrase “health center”? Most people think of health care as prevention or treatment of disease or illness. Is that what Planned Parenthood does? Are their facilities really “health” centers?
Will pregnant women receive pre-natal care for their babies at the Aurora Planned Parenthood? No. Will women get obstetrical care at Planned Parenthood? No. Will women be screened for diabetes or heart disease at Planned Parenthood? No. Will families be able to get immunizations for their school age children? No. Will families receive well-child care? No.
PP/CA has indicated that “only” about ten percent of its services will be abortions. The traditional teaching in obstetrics and gynecology is that when a woman is pregnant, there are two patients—mother and baby. This means that at least ten percent of PP/CA’s patients will be killed on site. How many actual health centers deliberately kill their patients?
Make no mistake, Planned Parenthood’s new facility in Aurora is not what most reasonable people view as a “health” center.
What else is planed for Aurora?
It won’t be long before PP/CA attempts to get its insidious messages reflecting their view of human sexuality into the Aurora public and parochial schools. It will try to gain access by insisting they “stress” abstinence. As Trombley has said, “Our program in the public schools stresses abstinence as the best option for teens, but also teaches teens about responsible sexual practices and responsible decision-making.”
PP/CA will tell school administrators and others in the community that they respect parental authority. But once in the door (and behind closed doors where parents are not allowed) its indoctrination process will begin. Kids will be referred to teenwire.com where they will learn that “only” they can decide what is best for them. “[T]ake the useful, smart stuff you’ve learned from your folks and kick the crap to the curb,” the young people will be taught. One of the books recommended for teens tells them “If you feel your parents are overprotective . . . you may feel you have to tune out their voice entirely.”
PP/CA may briefly mention abstinence to children, strictly in the context that it is the “best way” to avoid pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases. But this will be followed by a lesson on “outercourse.”
Rather than encouraging kids to choose chastity (a word not even in Planned Parenthood’s lexicon), PP/CA will tell them there are no rights or wrongs with any sexual behavior as long as it is consensual. To Planned Parenthood, sexual activity is just another form of recreation. And as with any form of sport or recreation, one just needs to have the right equipment (pills, shots, condoms, and abortion as a “backup” when those things fail).
Planned Parenthood’s worldwide activities have resulted in the trivialization of sexuality and the increased lack of restraint that has resulted in most of the sexually related problems people lament about today.
If we want what is best for our children, we must do whatever we legally can to stop Planned Parenthood. We must teach the truth about human sexuality and we must refer those facing an untimely pregnancy to organizations like Woman’s Choice Services (1-888-4-HOPE-4-1) that provide real help for women and teens.

I believe this is in Judy Biggert's district. You remember her--the one who turned her back on the GOP to vote in FAVOR of your federal tax dollars funding Planned Parenthood? We should all thank Judy personally for our brand new "Abortion Fortress."

President Bush says that he's pro-life, but he signed a few bills that gave money to Planned Parenthood and the World Health Organization, another group who performs abortions.
